    Fusing Problem MPC3002

    Good day

I am sitting with a strange problem.

First the machine did not want to fuse any *.csv file. If i open it in excel or notepad it will not make a difference. Any other excel or notepad file will fuse just fine. If i open the csv file in excel and place a border around it. it will fuse. I eventually installed an old MPC3000 driver and that solved the problem. Funny as hell.

2 week later and there is a new funny problem. All documents, even smc reports, printed long edge first it will fuse but not when printed short edge first.

    Fuser unit replaced
    Firmware up-to-date
Temp raised by 15 degrees without any effect.

    Any ideas??????

What about the maintenance tab in user tools. Is the plain paper set for type 2?
Could be that the fusing belt is faulty. Have seen a few of them on the 02's

Are you tried to enable CPM?
Reducing copy or print speed may help

There are different solutions for similar fuse problem...
        1. SP 1-801-072 change it to -> 1.5% or the fusing motor has suffered AX060430.
        2. Cold offset effect -> 1-101-101 ---> change it to 150, 1-112-002 ---> change it to 0

            Ways to reduce speed:-
            1)changing media type.
            2) sp 1801-(41,42,43,44)
            ....
            Pm from sp1916-(6~15)

Not so stupid question, I don't know what that is either. Too many posters assume that everyone knows all the abbreviations, without explaining, whereas in fact not everyone does.

As for the original issue of not fusing on these models, which I keep seeing a lot of, I believe it is the the wear on the sleeve belt units of the fuser. The lub bar inside seems to wear out, even if the sleeve looks good from outside. We had a couple stripped down and you can see the edges of the lub bar becomes very concave (when viewing at profile) and does not make as good contact with the belt resulting in poor fusing, especially at the edges. Ricoh do not do this as part but as the complete (expensive) unit. If anyone knows of any after market lub bars, please let us know. When they are worn as such, I don't think any amount of tweeking the temperatures or speeds is going to solve the issue.

As for the SP codes shown on the bulletin for tweeking, I looked in the manual and some of them don't exist ! (There is no 1-101-101, or 1-112-002). So where did they come from ?
