Lanier LD280 dark display

Hi All

Working on a Lanier LD 280 with a dark display. The touch screen is responsive but it looks like the backlight isn't coming on , adj know has very little effect....So I swapped the complete op panel with another box and no change. So is this a board problem or what and if a board, which board and exact location. Is this a known issue with these boxes...

Thanks for the link...Good stuff.
However in my care the box is working properly (copy, print. scan) it,s just the display that is barely visible (no back light )?
I do have a donor to pull boards of of...... I just don't know what the most common problem is after the Op Panel and don't want to swap every board . Donor is in an oven...Ouch.

Check where the op panel loom connects to - if it is the BCU, start there.

Hi Folks

A little update
Checked the connectors that I could see and swapped power source. No change
What I did find is that the cooling fans for the power supply and laser assy are not turning . Is something taking down the 24 Volts to these fans and is it the same circuit for the display?

Again everything is working (copy, print, scan)...only the display is dark.

Any more help is much appreciated ..This thing is kicking my ASS.
