    RICOH MPC3000 - MPC4500 transfer units

Are the transfer units interchangable between the MPC300 and MPC4500 series of machines? I know the part numbers are different.

    I think so.

The current part number for the ITB unit is B2236036 which looks to be the same for the Athena and Apollon.

The big question is whether you mean the IMAGE transfer as in the belt and assembly, or the PAPER transfer assembly on the right hand side of the machine.

MPC3000 Transfer Belt Reset in web image monitor?

          Folks,
Looking to reset the service spanner indication for the transfer belt in the web image monitor. There's no indication on the machine only on the web image monitor. I've tried adjusting SP's 7804-17 / 7952-1 / 7952-11 / 3902-13 to no avail...
          Any ideas?
          Tom

Even though the WIM says transfer 'belt' it is actually calling for the paper transfer roller. Reset the PM count for the paper transfer roller. I just did one of this exact complaint yesterday.

Set SP3902-016 to 1 then reboot. It resets the PM counter in SP modes and WIM. There is a way of switching off the reports for WIM altogether, but I can't find it at the mo. I'll have a dig.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                Hit it.

Also, the ITB has no PM replacement interval. It's replaced on a "as needed" basis.

Was told by Ricoh support that there's a firmware update on the mpc range for the problem of web image monitor asking to change tx units.

I left the dealership before getting chance to update that machine tho' !

PTR units for both MPC3000 and MPC4500 are different.

Altough the units will physically fit and work you will get jamming issues as if you look at both units the angle of the paper guide on the PTR that enters the fusing assembly is angled differently.

I recently had an issue were I followed an engineer into a MPC4500 were the PTR had been replaced with a unit suited for a MPC2500.

And after a bit of head scratching I noticed that he had fitted the wrong PTR.

We fit SPC811dn fusers to the MPC3500/MPC4500 and you get a free paper transfer unit with them - you just need to cut a bit off the bottom that stops it going in the copier version!

An answer as to how to stop replacement parts showing in the WIM would be gratefully appreciated.

In case you have to replace the transfer Unit I'd strongly recommend to use the transfer unit's from the printer series:

                              SPC811 Transfer Unit = MPC2500/3000/3500/4500
                              SPC820 Transfer Unit = MPC2800/3300/4000/5000

You just have to remove a little piece of plastic on the top side of the unit to make them fit - that's very easy and self explaining. AFAIK the price difference between the copier psrts and printer maintanance kits are heavy that's why I use the printer maintanance kits for the MPC's - of course it's the same quality you get.

Also, the ITB has no PM replacement interval. It's replaced on a "as needed" basis.
The ITB is listed in the PM table with a certain interval AFAIK but we replace it "as needed" as well because the stuff is running very well.
