    Life of a Pro C5100

    All,

Do you know the life of these?

I have 2 in a production environment that are 3 years old and just past 7m each.

They are starting to become unreliable.

Customer insists Ricoh said they're good for 20m!!

    Ta

    1) sales people lie. That's how they make money.

    2) 2+mil per year seems like they are riding them hard and putting up wet.

    3) Might wanna get them thinking about up grading... I assume them are under maintenance contract?

Ricoh told them probably means a salesman told them.

At 7m in 3 years, they have been exceeding the rating of this model. According to the product support guide, the maximum monthly volume is 150K. At 3 years that would be 5.4m. 7m would be more in line with a machine 4 years old. As for life, I would go with 5 to 7 years.
