zero for close and a 1 if switch is open. Are you a tech should have all ready known this.

they are switches, either on or off.

if you are using input check in service mode will show either a 0 or 1 state. doesn't say on or off you have to know what position switch is in. if it doesn't change state then you know switch could be bad or wiring problem or the logic board is bad. then that's where you get a volt meter and start checking things out.
