RIC MP3351 FAX standsby

When sending fax it says STANDBY. And when receiving fax it keeps ringing. No fax tone. Anyone can help me please? Thank you

user tools /facsimile feature/reception / switch reception mode make sure it says auto. Regular fax mode hit hook see if you hear dial tone check volume might be set to lowest setting

Hi Copierman,

Tried the reception mode, auto and manual. They both keeps ringing. NO dial tone. WHne I hit the HOOK and increase volume no sound. ANy help please? Thank you

Plug the phone cable into the proper jack on the machine....."LINE"

Make sure telephone cord is plugged into "LINE" and not "TEL". Confirm secure installation of fax assy. If these look good you most likely will need to replace FCU.

Does this mean that when standing next to the 3351 you can hear the ringing coming from the 3351 or just that the calling phone can hearing the simulates ring tone. Just because you can hear a ringing tone when you call another number does not mean that the phone or device you are calling is actually being rang. I can unplug my home and call with my cell phone and it will sound the same on the cell phone as if I just don't answer.

Plug the phone line into a standard analog hand set and test if you have a dial tone and can call in and out. If not you have a problem with your phone line.

Thanks for all your insights. Yes its indeed the Bell line that has a problem not the machine.
