thanks for the reply the only reason for the roller change was for marks on copies and near life parts no SCs etc.

I've found it to be very easy to damage the wires in the two small looms you have to connect at the back of the machine. You can be quite easy rip them out of the connector or break them off at the connector.

They might look ok at a casual glance but be broken.

It wasn't my first time working on the model, but the first time I went to take the fuser out of a relatively new machine the connectors were in so tight I damaged them. Had to strip the wire back and re-do the connector was not fun. The second time was on an older machine.

At this point I just use my pliers to grab at an empty wire socket in the connector and work it loose if it doesn't come out easily. When I put it back in I don't shove them in hard like I would most harnesses.

Luckily it's not often the fusers have to be worked with on these models. I miss the ones where the connector was built into the frame though.

I agree. It was stupid to replace the "slide in" connection with the riskier/fragile wiring harness.

great info from all of you the machine was fixed as the first Engineer had ordered the incorrect country thermistor which comes with all the harness and the shorting link was in the incorrect positions.

I had a junior tech order the wrong fusing sleeve once. EU part number instead of NA. I was the one who had to go to replace it. Since the customer needed it back up, I had to swap the lamp assemblies. Not a fun job.
