More than likely with that IP address you're using a router set up to for DHCP. Something else has picked up that IP address and the copier is floating out there with a new one, or if it's set up for a static IP there's a conflict over that address.
Set the machine up with an IP outside of the range that the DHCP agent of the router controls and then create a new printer port using that address. You'll be good to go after that...

That's only half the ping test - the other half is to turn the machine off or unplug the network cable and ping again. If you still get a reply you have a duplicate IP.

Unplug the machine or just turn it off.
If you get a ping reply, another node is sharing the IP.
I let the machine get a DHCP address then change it to a static address with the last octet 20 to 30 above.
On a server network I will add 100 to the octet and tell the IT geek to exclude it from the range.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

            Hi there

@ that point (Standard - Generic Network Card) of the installation just click next, next, finish. Wait a while then another window will open and add your printer driver and set up your paper sizes before you send a test page.

Make sure the sub net mask is the same as the one listed in the workstation you are pinging from. (ipconfig)

sounds like windows device manager has bombed out somehow. check device manager for red crosses or question marks against the device or ports.
uninstall EVERYTHING to do with the printer and restart the pc.

reinstall from a fresh dowmload from Ricoh and try the pcl 5 driver
