Got a Ricoh MP 2851 with 2 cassettes. Neither cassette will lift paper and display shows paper empty. Sometimes you get a reseat cassette message. No lifter movement in either cassette. Suspect a board issue (IOB or BICU) as both cassettes failed at the same time after customer moved machine and plugged it into an overloaded power strip with about 5 other things plugged into the strip. Bypass works fine. The rest of the machine functions normally.

Re: Ricoh MP2851 cassettes no lift
on these mp2851 mp3351 if you remove the back panel you will see there is a small switch that gets activated when you slide the cassette in. they are bad for coming loose and not reading correctly. this will cause cassette not to lift. ricoh has actually come out with a sticky plastic piece that you attach to the bracket to keep switch feet from being able to collapse and slip out of bracket. only tray 1 and 2 have this switch so it would explain your issue.Comment
