ricoh aficio sp 3100 adminisstrator password

hello,
i would like to setup this printer to scan to either folder or to email ,
i go through all the required steps until i reach the bottom of the page in the WIM then it asks for administrator password.

usually for ricoh machines we use "Admin" for user name and blank for password field but this aint working . the supervisor password to try and change the creditials also does not work.
instead it gives a message WRONG PASSWORD .
any ideas on how to go around this problem.your help will be highly appreciated.

if this isn't a new machine.. I would go into SM and blow all passwords and set them up for your liking

Its a new machine just set it up for printing a few weeks ago until i hit a snag

look in the Service manual .. the steps required to change/erase passwords will be there.

Check with the customer's IT. They may have changed the passwords for security reasons. If that is the case and you change them, you might lose a customer. If they won't provide you the new password, then setting up scanning becomes their responsibility.

IT changed the password and has forgotten it

That leaves 2 options. If you know how to get into Factory SP mode you can use SP 5847-046 to clear. Otherwise you will have to replace the NVram.
