[Error Code] aficio 1075 with SC 624 cant detect trays

hello folks..

i been using my 1075 smoothly today when it suddenly gave an error code SC 624. afterwards a phantom "tray 4" appears on the control panel though the copier has only 3 trays.
worst part all the trays are inactive with the message "load paper to all trays".

i know this machine inside out and have solved lots of errors but this nasty code has really left me scratching my head..

any help would be much appreciated. thank you

Probably Defective BCU or PSU

SC624, BCU to tray communication error. If re-booting with all of the trays out does not solve it. then yeppers, may be a bad BCU....

Could be the PFC (Paper Feed Control) board. Located in the back of the lower frame next to the PSU. Check for loose connections and toner/developer on the board. Less expensive than the BCU.

Thanks man i suspected the PFC so i changed the board from another machine which was not in use. problem however is it also went down with the same issue before it went out of use.

so after the replacement it did not work. ill blow some air on it and clean it up properly to see if it works. if not then ill have to buy a new part and see. The machine boots up, warms up and get to READY. You can hear the beep. the only problem is after that you cant copy because it says load paper onto all trays.

@sandmanmac was right .. I checked the PSU Carefully and a couple of stuff were fried. so i changed the psu and bam.. the old man is back..
