Ricoh 3510 grinding noise

A customer has an obnoxious grinding noise when the printer is warming up or printing. I was able to eliminate the fuser, toner cartridge, and feed rollers by swapping them with units that worked in another machine. I spent a good amount of time scouring to find a broken gear with no luck. The customer really wants it fixed, but I doubt my boss wants me to spend a lot of time on this thing.

Hoping this is a common problem for Ricoh guys. I deal mainly with Kyocera and haven't worked on this model before.

There is a stepper motor on the left side (assuming your are looking from the front) under the left cover near the top that runs the set of paper exit rollers that feed paper out the last bit or pull it back in for duplex. I had that motor fail on an SP35100DN It made quite the racket until it just seized.

Part number for that motor for a SP3510DN is AX05 0265 probably same for the SF version though.

Have u check the fusing body gear? I have this problem before. After change the body gear. Problem was solve.

Check the plastic gears in the developer unit: if they're worn down they can lock up and end up stripping part of the drum drive unit. I had one that made a lot of noise a few months back with this issue. Replace the drum drive unit and see if the problem goes away.
