    MPC4502 SC552-03

    Heating roller warm-up error 2

    after the inverter turned on.
    2. The temperature at the end of the heating roller does not reach the
ready temperature for 89 seconds after the fusing lamp turned on.
     Defective heating roller thermistor
     Defective inverter
This is copied from the service manual. Can someone please tell me what the inverter is?!! When I do a search for inverter the only thing that comes up is with the duplex door.
I have a SC552-03.... which I don't even know what the 03 stands for because that is not listed in the manual as well.
I have replaced the whole fuser and would love to know what a 03 code and a inverter is!!!!!!! Very frustrated!

    Re: MPC4502 SC552-03

    Hi there!
Good to know that the US-manual is as "shitty" as the german one. The german word for "inverter" means, that it is the duplex-unit(?????), and the -03 exists not. Only explanation is a bad thermistor.
But the meanest thing is the german translation of the METIS C-1 range. Read loud in the workshop, everyone is crying and/or laughing.
    Greetings...

This model uses an induction heater, IH. The inverter is the IH Inverter. In the service manual replacement section it is refereed to as the AC controller board.

The MPC4502 uses a dual lamp system for heating, no induction unit.

The inverter it specifies here may be a poor translation or cross-over from a previous model. My bet is on the latter.

For me SC552 has always been a faulty fuser sleeve, either the sleeve is torn or the lamps have snapped.

The translation of inverter to AC Controller Board is still proper for the service manual trouble shooting of SC522-03.

Update! The customer is 4 hours away so I was just trying to be prepared before I went. I had replaced the fuser on the last call so I felt pretty sure that would not be the issue. Turns out is was... a bent over thermistor! Slightly bent to one side not making full contact. Still not happy about service manual. Thanks as always for everyone's input.
