    Windows 10 scanning

Hi All. I have a c400 in an office that is scanning from all computers Ok, including another win 10 laptop. The brand new laptop also has win 10 on it,but no successful scanning yet. This new pc has both pin numbers for some stuff and passwords for other stuff.. The PC log in is set with a pin instead of a password, and I think the problem is there. Has anyone run into this?

I sign into my own pc with a PIN, but to the best of my knowledge, you can't create a PIN without first creating a password. That's what you need.
I know that you can't use the PIN to authenticate the scanner

Make sure SMB1 is on. IIRC new win 10 installs have it off by default.

you can check using windows powershell with the get-smbserverconfiguration command

Is there a command to turn on SMB1?

Turn it on through control panel > programs > programs and features > turn windows features on or off

Thanks for all the replies. I got 'er fixed this morning with help from this forum and youtube. I am NOT a huge fan of windows 10. The final fix was clicking the security tab on the scan folder properties window and adding the user name to that list.
