3228c 2 tray stand up finisher

I am about to upgrade a copier in the field from a regular stand to the two paper tray pedestal. The two tray finisher is higher than the regular stand. Is there a way to adjust the lips of the finisher to line up.

Sorry if this is obvious, I just don't want to get out there and not have something I need.

    Thanks guys

If by "regular stand" you mean base (no paper trays) to the two tray paper stand then yes the finisher will work. If I recall, the base or single tray could not be used with a finisher.

    Here's the machine config sheet.

Now that I think about it, there may be a firmware update that lets you use the booklet finisher with the base since I think it's adjustable for height.

Yes, I'm sorry. I mean base.

So I am replacing the base with a two paper drawer pedestal which will make the machine higher. In the service manual it looks like there is an adjustment bracket.

It seems weird that raising a bracket on the finisher would raise the lips of the finisher. I haven't looked at it yet tho. I sure as hell hope so.

BTW the finisher is G in your pic.

I think it just uses the other exit on the duplexer for each stand. Like I said, I think there was a firmware change that allowed the finisher to be used with the base. I don't think your finisher is adjustable for height, just the booklet finisher. If you currently have the plain base and are using the two tray finisher, I don't think you will have any problems. You may want to take firmware with you, but hardware should be fine.

And "finisher lips"? Am I the only one who chuckled at that?

The duplex on the machine has a lower and higher paper exit.
Which one the machine uses will depend if you have the 1-tray or 2-tray / LCT tandem deck installed.

The booklet finisher always uses the lower exit (9) and it's legs adjust according to the machines height.

The two tray finisher will use either the lower (9) or higher (10) exit.
The connecting bracket on the two tray finisher needs to be moved down if you use the 1-tray deck.
