1224c ghosting

Hi guys,
1224 ghosting intermittently when doing colour printing, the repeat of the image is the diameter of the transfer roller, i have changed the transfer lift clutch on this machine and the problem dissapears but does not last long to come back with the fault, any suggestions?

The transport bracket assembly is a common failure on this machine and can cause ghosting.

I've only been officially trained on these hunks o crap for a month or so and I've already had a problem similar to this.

The transport bracket, (as the last poster mentioned) has a half turn clutch on it that should cam the ITB cleaning unit out of the way whilst the OPC belt rotates four times on a full colour job to build the CYMK image up, then after the image has been transfered onto the paper, it should cam it back down.

I was told not to bother chaning the individual parts on the transport bracket, just bung the whole lot in.

On B/W jobs the cleaning unit is in full contact all the time so won't show any symptoms.

Also, worth checking. Take the the ITB cleaning unit off the PCU completely and check if it's completely bunged up. I've been told of another fault with these whereby drive isn't supplied to the cleaning unit's transport coils and they back up.... Again a transport bracket was needed.

And after that, make sure the sales dept tries to get them a new machine. I really dislike these buggers.

Put in two springs with more tention on your tranfer cleaning unit, that will solve your problem.
