[Jamming] Aficio 2018D Feed Issue

Hi everyone,

Lately, i noticed frequent jams when using either Tray 3 or 4 on our 2018D. When i check the jammed paper, there are multiple sheets. I thought it was just the paper sticking together.

When i put a different size of paper in one of the trays, i found out the the jam was actually caused by paper from BOTH trays feeding SIMULTANEOUSLY. The jammed paper were of different sizes which means they came from both trays.

Then i emptied tray 3. The machine made a terrible noise like the feeding roller is spinning against the friction pad of the empty tray.

When I empty tray 4 and load tray 3, it doesn't feed at all.

Anybody experienced this trouble? I would appreciate any inputs.

Yes, and you're not fixing this with couple of sentences of advice.
You need a tech, or a new machine.
The choice is yours

My vote is for a new machine. These POS are notorious for having the registration bushings break the hook that the pressure springs attach to.

I say put it on ebay and get rich quick......................

even I dont service that "relic" anymore..................
