Was at a customers who wanted some things changed. Most of the settings required WIM access. When I webbed in I was not able to access the WIM. My laptop said 404 service not found, or something like that. Scoured SP mode thinking that something was restricted but found nothing. Most suggestions had me asking their IT dept about port blocking etc.... If they blocked ports on their network then it would not effect the machine. I'm missing something but not sure what.

Re: 8300dn WIM not accessible 404 service message
Probably just needs a reboot.
Standard practice I follow is to print off a config page, change your laptop TCP/IP settings accordingly and patch in directly with a cross-over cable.
(If the printer is set to DHCP temporarily change it to fixed).
Be sure you can get a ping response back from the printer.
Then try connecting using either Chrome or Firefox.
I don't recommend IE or Edge.
Check the network access range control is not configured.
Failing that you could try a memory clear of the NCS or web service (try one at a time and reboot). That will reset those select modules/services back to the factory defaults.
Be sure to print off a config page first and make a note of any DNS entries.Last edited by Cipher; 03-24-2018, 10:57 PM.- Knowledge not shared, is eventually knowledge that becomes lost... like tears in the rain.

This was a direct connect with a cable. We could ping it no problem. Tried Firefox as well and got the same result. Almost like the WIM was blocked. I will see if the NCS and web clear does anything. Thanks for the response been a real puzzler for a few days.Comment

Re: 8300dn WIM not accessible 404 service message
Check the setting of system SP 5985-001. It should be 1, if it is 2, WIM will not work.
From the service manual: 5985-001 onboard NIC[0 to 2 / 0 / 1 /step]
0: Disable, 1: Enable, 2: Function limitation
When the "Function limitation" is set, "On board NIC" is limited only for the NRS or LDAP/NT authentication. Other network applications such as NRS, WebImageMonitor, or LDAP/NT authentication are not available when this SP is set to "2". Even though you can change the initial settings of those network applications, the settings do not work

Mdkoh has already said that he was connected directly, no network. Most likely with his own laptop that he has used before. Try reading the entire post before replying.wComment
