looking for an opinion on the SR 3100 BOOKLET FINISHER

    hi.
i just bought a mpc3002 wth shattered screen because i needed a cheap sorter for an account.
Have not run this yet as screen is blasted by movers.
I am familiar with the 60 cpm b/w sorter from 1060 to the mp6001 and am looking for an opinion on this series.
Is there anything i should look out for or do they just run...
and do these use the type k cartridges?
    thanks in advance

If the SCREEN on the copier was "blasted by the movers", I would look really carefully at the finisher. I had one last week from a wholesaler where the shift tray arms were bent all to Hades!! Make certain the shift tray is level as well, and the entrance guides aren't bent. If you get jamming right out of the gate, the entrance guides being bent is the usual suspect.

And the answer is "Yes" on the Type K staples.

    Good luck.

I hear ya but this lease return place thinks "stepping on copiers" is normal..up in northern nj..
Watched them lift my mpc300 from the control panel too....
I dont buy from them much as reforming metal frames, and as you state shift trays is not something
i want/need to waste time on.
i do need to reform the entry guide plate and probably the shift tray metal arms/
I really didnt have much choices and had the machine described as "blank screen"..

As the machine that came with this had a blasted screen i couldnt test the sorter.
Upon delivery it made a binding noise and the stapled sets came out crooked.
After 2 hours of bending and reforming the output sort metal arms, the entry guide plate, the exit guide plate,
i got it working. A much heavier sorter than the other plain ones...
