[Misc] Hard Reset on Ricoh MP2851

What is the best way to do a hard reset on the Ricoh MP2851 and are there any precautions to be aware of? Any and all responses are greatly appreciated.

-= IF =- you are talking FACTORY reset MAKE DAMN SURE you have the birth cert and a SERVICE manual to guide you thru re-inputting the birth certificate info

it would help us more if you were SPECIFIC on WHY you want to do this, and what issues you had before with the unit

The reason I am inquiring about hard reset is; the I T guy at an account is unable to get the machine to scan to a network file. And he thinks it a hard reset my clear the way for him. ???

Major problem is a Microsoft update that turned off SMB v1 as the easiest way to block Wanna Cry. MP 2851 current only supports SMB v1. Three options:
            1. Have IT to enable SMB v1. For safety IT should use firewall to block from any IP address other than the 2851.
            2. Use FTP or email until Ricoh develops firmware for SMB v2/v3. Could be anywhere from a month or two to never.
            3. Update the customer a 2555 or 3055.

Your sales people prefer option 3.

This machine will not get firmware for V2/V3. Chance are it may not work with modern e-mail with SSL enabled.
