    Boot sd card

Does anyone have information on this utility?
I have read that when the boot program Flash ROM is damaged or corrupted, the SD card can be used to start the machine and download the firmware to restart the program. There is a special utility to format the sd card to boot from it.

The are issued to regional reps if and only if they are sent to assist with a repair where Ricoh has already determined that it will be needed. You will need to arrange a support visit from your Ricoh support rep.

In the days of firmware updates with the PCMCIA cards, there was a dip switch that could be used to force booting from the PCMCIA card. Occasionally needed to be used if power failed during an update.

Are you sure that's the issue with the machine?
What model? Describe the problem you have. What led to the condition?

MP 4000 or MP 4000B? If it is a B and you tried to add Printer/Scanner function by just adding a Printer/Scanner SD Card, you screwed up. To add printer/scanner requires more than just an SD card. Read your service manual.

This case I think is due to a corrupt Dram, or HDD. Check them out and replace them.
