aficio 161spf won't copy multiple pages.

customer called and said their aficio 161spf does not copy multiple pages. If 5 is selected it will make only one copy so they have press copy 5 times.

I am looking up this morning but have not found anything yet. Is this a low toner effect. Frank

Thanks Mongo So does that mean that the machine should also be requesting to add paper as customer did not mention that.

I think there is a sp mode (or in user mode?) that limits the quantity to 1 (or what ever you select).

If you stand in front of the copier and watch while it is feeding you might notice the add paper indicator come on for about a second while the paper is feeding. It may also beep when the indicator flashes on. I have also had them do so if you shake the machine slightly. Paper size switch or tray open switch can also cause this,

              x 2.
I've had flaky sensors, and also machines that were just not sitting properly on a table and the drawer would shift slightly as the paper fed.

Re: aficio 161spf won't copy multiple pages.

Thanks for all the help and info. I was there this morning and never saw the machine not copy multiples. I did
however move the machine as it was close to edge of table so I don't know if that was an issue. Customer was also
in for line thru page(adf shield) and adf jamming as all rollers in adf had residue. Cleaned all Rollers in adf as well as tray pickup and transport on side.
Machine had the replace photconductor message and customer said it was there for a long time. There were 74K on machine
and customer said had never been changed which was quite surprising. I thought it had to be changed as quality was excellent.
I told customer not to ignore message as he could wind up with error codes and lockout and or spillage as I had read about on this
site previously. He okayed my pricing out photoconductor and getting back to him. Thanks again to all. Frank
