Hi,
I have Ricoh MP 3350, shows SC 672, and I cann't enter the service mode to clear the memory.
can anybody tell me how to solve this problem?

try turn on without HDD, if sc 672 appear , controler is dead.

I've just changed the main control board on an mpc5503 due to intermittent sc672 errors.
waiting to see how it goes.

not looking to hijack tread but is sc 672-12 the same for a mpc401sr regarding possible bad harddrive?
i saw the rtb 56 regarding FW

Hi.

The only reference to SC672 is in the MPC300/400 manual:

672 CTL
D
Controller-to-operation panel communication error at startup
After powering on the machine, the communication circuit between the
controller and the operation panel is not opened, or communication with
controller is interrupted after a normal startup.


! Controller stall
! Controller board installed incorrectly
! Controller board defective
! Operation panel connector loose or defective


1. Check the harness connection.
2. Replace the controller board.

On an AFICIO MP 2352 I had to change the IPU card

for me to think hard drive on my mpc401sr in my shop it acts like a bad hard drive where
on my SOP panel after it loads the home screen if i hit copier or fax etc i get the please wait screen,
and it never clears till it codes out.
totally intermitent,and i just picked this up a few
weeks ago so I have not spent a lot of time
outside of doing FW update both package and romdata

Do not try to clear memory, are you using the correct way to enter SP mode.

i am not a memory clear guy,and yes i know how to enter the new service mode that is how i print out
FW ver in 5990-05..I am just too busy now to pull it apart and have 3 units I am needing to prep,test,calibrate,FW update etc..
I try to line up accounts i can pop them in b4 they
are ready..

On the 3350 remove the fax unit if it has it in addition to the Hdd.

I disconnect the controller and turn on the machine but nothing appears in the display. it's black

disconnect the Hard disk ,not the controler!!

ok I disconnect the hard disk and power on machine. the screen shows these errors:
sc problems with hard disk
sc 860
sc 870
sc 872
sc 925
do u think problem is in hard disk drive?

now format Hdd, and connect it again,if SC 672 apears again the problema is controller

Or the HDD needs to be replaced.
