    mpc3002 toner pump opinion

    hi
I got a call that is a 80 mi.roundtrip for me that i sold them 2 years ago,so i want all i need to finish the call.
It seems they are using generic toner and it is asking for k toner 2 weeks after
this cartridge was changed and machine ran ok.
I am hoping it just a crappy cartridge but how are the toner pumps on this series?
I have not really seen anything to make me think they fail like the mpc2800/3300/3501s.
I have yet to change one on this series.

Unfortunately with generic toner you can never rule anything out. I would have a spare toner cartridge, toner pump, developer and drum units on me just in case. Generic toner is unreliable and unpredictable.

Yeah i dont know which aftermarket they are using.
I am pulling a toner pump, new oem k toner and bag of developer from my stash.
I figure if the k meter is over 200k a fresh developer change is about due.
I need to pull the hose and vacuum out everything b4 changing the dev to be sure problem solved.

Replacing the K pump unit and supply tube almost always resolves the issue. Part # D144-3221. I would start with that.

exactly , vacuum is definitely the first thing to do and chances are if will solve the issue. If not then toner pump next

I had a pump with me and that did the trick but machine would not reset the "toner gauge" when i installed a brand new ricoh oem cartridge.
I dont to install a new cartridge too often but is that normal..
Until I changed the toner pump and the machine came to ready did it reset the toner gauge..
I thought they improved the toner pumps after the mpc2800/c3300/c3501 series..
              Machine had only 150k
