Expansion box on another machine

Hi,

Our Aficio 2018D had retired and it had this expansion box that gave it network connectivity.

Can i use this expansion box on our MP2000 and hopefully give it print and network capability? The MP2000 is currently on a copier only configuration.

You wish to use a USB cable to Ethernet cable conversion box; much the same conversion box as some of the old HP models?
Firstly... the Ricoh MP2000 should have Ethernet cable capability as factory standard = networking.
Why would you wish to convert the MP2000 Ethernet from USB?

Sounds like the MP2000 is missing the network SD print/scan card from slot 1.

If you are talking about something that was installed *inside* the machine then no, those options are machine model specific. If you want to upgrade your MP2000 from basic to print/scan ability you would need to find a Printer/Scanner Unit Type 2000 Kit the manufacturer code for that is

I am referring to the big box that is attached to the BICU board. The one with SDCARD slots and usb/network cards.

The service manual simply referred to it as MFP expansion component box.

I did some digging and found there are are Printer / Scanner Unit SDCARDS for specific models. And there are those being sold online that's for an MP2000. Would I be able to use the box from the 2018 if I were to replace the 2018 SDCARD with an MP2000 SDCARD?

No.
There is NOTHING related to electronics that is interchangeable between the 2 machines.

As EVERYONE ELSE stated...you can't take the Controller box from the 2018 and slap it into the MP2000.
