I was curious if there is a way to convert a fiery e-22c into a e-22b. They seem to be manufactured almost identically, and I have a restoration cd that works for both models. I have an e-22c i was hoping to make work for an 8002 instead of buying an e-22b

Re: Fiery e-22b and e-22c
I don't know of anyone brave enough to do what your asking? Here is a thought - plug the fiery into the machine you were hoping to use it on and see what happens. The E22-C comes with 2 different Colour Controller Connection Boards (Type M3 for D146/D147 and TYpe M4 for D148/D149/D150). The Type M4 is the same one that is used on the E22-B.Comment

Re: Fiery e-22b and e-22c
I believe the hardware is completely the same except for one chip on the motherboard of the fiery that designates the license info for the machine to be connected to. I know the system software is the same. I had to replace a motherboard a few weeks ago and in addition to having to swap the ram, video board and processor/heat sink and fan, there was a rom chip I had to swap as well.

Possibly a PAL (programmable array logic). Simpler device with limited function such as specifying model speed that the board is for use in.Comment
