MP C7502 Martini Series, Tandem Tray Problems.

I find the Martini series of copiers a very reliable model but they do have some irritating little problems. My latest head scratcher is one that just occasionally crashes the paper stack into the gates when it moves the paper from left to right in the tandem tray. For reasons we can't spot intermittently the gates on the right hand side just don't open up and stay out the way long enough for the paper to shift over.
I have a feeling that this could be linked to earlier problems of the gears that push the paper from left to right shattering but this only happened on a few of the fleet we have in the field and we never did find out the reason why.
Anybody else seen this problem and any tips on how to stop it?
    Cheers,

same problem here. It's a piece of crap.
But... i clean and lubricate well all moving parts (and bushings) and replace the pulleys...
Check also the bottom plates: are they bant and not at the right height (if not it blocks)...

I'm confused here. I thought that the Martini Series was B/W.

Whoops, a typo crept in there. Please delete the extra "C" the title should read MP 7502, sorry about that.

I have had problems with the harness to the rear gate solenoid either loose or interfering with movement.
