Can somebody Settle an argument with Sales Ref.Ricoh Fax 3310L / LF310

I probably should have put this in the fax forum really.

Can any of you guys help me settle an argument I am having with a sales rep, in my company.
He sold a customer a Fax 3310L as an MFP, print /fax/copy etc. The machine is doing about 50K per year.
Is this reasonable? Is he expecting too much from the machine?
The customer isnt very happy with the machine. It has 100k on the clock and it recentley blew a Print Controller Board.
Its over two years old with 100K on the clock.
My argument is that its not worth putting another expensive Print Controller Board into the machine.
    Maybe im been unreasonable!
    Any Thoughts?

      5k a month max, 1k a month average.
Unit life 5yrs or 120k scans or 300k prints (which ever comes first).

The print engine design is pretty consistant and reliable.
But the primary function of this model as far as I'm concerned is that of workgroup fax machine not a MFD.

100k in two years isn't unreasonable but it's pushing the upper limits.
They could do with a bigger machine that's more capable as a MFD.

What a strange sales rep you have!
Normally their looking for any excuse to upgrade the customer to a bigger machine. I've had reps plead with me NOT repair the customers copier!
At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.

I Dont think its as easy to upgrade machines as it used to be. The reps here are really feeling the pinch, we seem to be in the middle of a pretty serious recesion over here in ireland at the momment.
Thanks for the figures guys regarding volumes, im sure we can come up a solution with these figures.

          Cheers!!!
