Are any staple trimmings actually making it into the hopper?

Few, I find them all out

It seems like a synchronicism problem

Since most stapling takes place at the rear position and cut to length is done just prior to stapling the opemig at the bottom of the waste chute is hanging open just enough to allow the cuttings to drop out.

I had this problem last week at a call. Pull the corner stapler off the machine and look at the big solenoid on the bracket the stapler attaches the solenoid opens the flapper on the bottom on the stapler to let the trimmings go in the cup. In my case the solenoid burnt and the solenoid wasn't opening the flapper.
