    [Misc] Dirty backside MP2501

    Hi
I have some unexplained problem with Ricoh MP2501. There is about 20cm dirty or remains toner on the back side of the paper? Duble side scan of copy in attachement.
As an explanation, let me say that I have changed with original parts; drum, developer, charge roller, transfer roler, magnetic developer roller.
If anybody have the same problem I will be very hapy to shere with me.

    regards

What is feed direction, LEF or SEF. Either way it must be coming from transfer.

Its LEF direction! The drum surface is lite dirty of amout of toner and the toner is go ower to the transfer. Im looking forward it could be some hihg voltage shortcut???

If this model is like the earlier midrange B/W series"ie mp 2022" if its smudged toner the transfer roller
will get dirty since the drums/dev units like to leak toner.I would pull drum, laser unit and vacuum/wipe all
areas and then ck drum count.
the machine might be over toning to compensate a worn drum...

                  Genuine Ricoh toner?
and I believe he already said he stopped it before the fuser and it is still there.

Agree with this. sometimes we de-tone it a little bit so the duplex print/copy becomes clear. Make sure you are using original toners, drum and dev.
                    Aye! Cut the crap

Actually it is more like its actual predecessors, MP1600/2000. As such it is subject to toner buildup on the transfer roller. If the light grey background and the streak is on the lead edge, it is caused by a dirty transfer roller. The streak is possibly where the roller was setting against the drum when not running paper through.

                      From the Detailed Description manual:
                      1. [*=2]Before starting the printing job (only if enabled with SP 2996; note that the default setting is off).
[*=2]Just after the power is switched on.
[*=2]After a copy jam has been cleared.
[*=2]After 10 or more sheets of paper have been copied and the copy job has finished
Non Genuine Ricoh toner or drum will make matters worse. Scrubbing the roller in the sink with soap and water may help for a short period but your best bet is to replace the roller. It SP 2996 is at default, off, turn it on.

Check if the toner and developer is original..

                          Hi guys,
the problem is still remains! I replaced pressure roller with the new one original Ricoh also the toner is original brand Ricoh. There is two facts, ower tonering you can see on the drum surface and consequence is toner on the transfer roler which made dirty background.

By pressure roller you are referring to the one in the fusing unit, that was the wrong thing to replace. What you need to replace is the transfer roller that presses the paper against the drum and applies the current to pull the toner off the drum and onto the paper.
