Katun MP C '03 PCU rebuild kits

    G'day All!

Katun have just released a MP C '03 and '04 PCU rebuild kit here in Oz, anybody tried one yet?

We tried a kit from another source and ended up with egg on our face when they all crapped out around 30k, nowhere near Ricohs guaranteed 270K.
Don't want to get caught like that again so we're looking for testimonials before we take the plunge.
At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.

I have used them as a tral.
out of four kits one failed very quickly, the other 3 are still going strong (so far)

i hate katun...stuff was garbage years back..soft drums would scratch if you looked at them "too long"...
I cant say on recent stuff as i have NOT bought from them
in many years...But as for aftermarket drums,i use to rebuild a bunch of printer/fax toner cartridges and there
were some made in Japan and some made in Germany.
They both lasted longer than OEM, good quality control and surface hard as nails...
There are a bunch of Chinese vendors who it appears might be the "product provider for Ricoh"..
Some of their item come as if ordered direct as a ricoh dealer.
          That might worth a look..
As for katun i dont trust them..I bought some items from Q2"ex-katun guy" as seen on this site and just installed a few fuser parts so far,oil webs and pressure rollers..so far so so good, priced right..

They used to make a decent rebuild kit for Type 1027 PCU. Even included the gears for the development unit and a plastic bottle marked to measure out the proper amount of developer. Then suddenly we started getting a very high failure rate on their cleaning blades.

i bought at least 50 of their pcu rebuild kit and they never lasted.
Thought maybe i missed something on the rebuild, vacuum out drum cleaning unit, clean charge roller wth supplied pad and change drum and drum blade.
Sometimes i would change developer too,but no matter what that drum would scratch and show lines and just became work after work...
                I dont miss that........
