    Lanier 5222 Toner Problem

I have a lanier 5222 and had a problem with the drum unit I replaced the drum unit and also put in new developer. I cleaned the Mag Wheel when I was replacing the developer so the machine would have all new developer in it.

When I made copies or printed the page is printing fine other than at the top about 2 inches down it is very very faint like the developer/ toner isnt reaching that part of the page.

When I replaced the developer was I suppose to do anything else to the machine? Or does anyone know how to fix this problem?

    Thanks
    Greg

did you replace the entire pcu or try to rebuild it with new drum and developer?

it is best to replace the entire pcu as these do not rebuild very well at all and any small savings you have buying the individual parts will be eatin up in poor copy quality calls or lower pcu yield.

Ditto that - even Ricoh's "professionally" remanufactured PCU's for these machines rarely survived more than 10k. Used to be if you ordered the part you never knew if you were going to get a new unit or a reman - we quit accepting the remans a long time ago.

Try putting a 1027 PCU in these guys by snipping off the extra pin on the front right side of the PCU (as you put it in, you'll see it) and watch most of your problems go away.
