driver download file (*.inf) - disappered when "adding new printer"

Using "add a new printer" it asks at a certain time for "copy file driver" (or something like that).
Then (than?) you select "bladeren" (i don't know the English word for it) to select the driver file which you had downloaded on the pc before.
But... this driver file is nowhere to be find (*.inf)...
But the file is actually in the "temp" root (or at "desktop") visible...

The file name + the path might contain too many characters, try putting the driver files directly under C:\

Almost daily we install printers and drivers and sometimes this driverfile is not found in the root after "new printer" is added and when it asks for the driver.
Although the driver file is saved in the temp map and is accessible via windows explore or search file.

Kimi: that is what we have tried to do also, but no good...
File is not found at the point of "select driver file of manufacturer"...

Sounds like UAC problem....

Download the printer driver using known User (not Guest) or Admin account.
Try installing the printer driver using administrator account.

If you have the problem with multiple machines of the same model, try downloading and/or extracting the driver to a folder USB or SD memory device. This way you will have the extracted driver where you can copy the folder to the desktop of each machine.
