    Clearing Embedding @Remote

Alright... A MFP that was suppose to be delivered to one client was taken to a another location for a demo. Well, just so you know, the original client postponed delivery of the machine a week, so... it's like noone got hurt in all this. Well, maybe someone did.

Anyway, when this MFP was delivered to the demo location, a embedded @remote key was programmed in through WIM. But when the machine was picked up and then delivered to it's permenite location, which uses a RC-Gate for remote communications, the gate sees the MFP correctly but cannot register it. So, I can see the MFP but cannot retrieve meter readings or register the MFP on the @remote system.

First thing I tried to do was remove the embedded key, but found out you can't. At least not through WIM. I then called Tech Support and asked about how to turn off the embedded @remote, the guy I got was like, "Uh, I don't know. No ones ever asked how to do that." And yes, I called the specific @Remote tech hot line. After leaving me on hold for close to 15 minutes, he finally suggested changing the controller or reformating the hard drive. Since I know that none of the info is stored on the hard drive, I have not done a HD format.

So... I got to looking at the system settings in SP5816. I noticed two sections that caught my eye. Sections 21 & 22. What do you guys think about switching 21 to 2 and 22 to 0?

The first law states that energy is conserved: The change in the internal energy is equal to the amount added by heating minus the amount lost by doing work on the environment.

the quick solution would be to execute SP 5801-3 or try the following: 5-816-001 = 2, 5-816-003 = 1, 5-870-003/001 and reboot

I will give that a shot one day next week. Honestly... I never knew about 5-870! I saw the other keys, just... well... you know...

      Thanks a ton!
