Hi All,
I had a job recently to add a scan to email user on an AF2020D. Prior to this, this machine was used for faxing, copying and printing only so the address book only contained fax users (as user codes etc were not implemented). I managed to add the user via the control panel as per normal and it accepted the user all ok (assigned user to quick dial 32). When i selected the scanner button and then pressed quick dial 32 (and yes i made sure the flap was flipped as well as the letter icon (scan to email) on the LCD screen), it gave me the error: this destination is not programmed. I also searched for a scan to email user via the search by list method with no results, only the above previous error message. I immediately went back into Key Op Tools in System settings however noticed the "Address Book Management" option was gone - definitely not there.
A reboot of the copier brings back the address book management link. I decided to re-program one of the existing fax users however it gave me the error: this user is not programmed, yet if i were to use the fax function and select that user's quick dial key, it would still pick up the fax destination and successfully send a fax to it as well.
I later performed SP 5846-50. This did "not" clear the address book. If i were to press the quick dial keys for previous fax users, they would still show up and work. However, if i went into the address book and then tried to re-program these previous fax users (which are still there), it then gave me the screen as if i was creating a new user.
ie, to clear things up if you're lost - Fax destination FAX1 is set to quick dial 01. when i press quick dial 01, FAX1 shows up on the LCD screen. If i go into the address book and program/change registration 01, it gives me a blank name field. no fax details are contained in this profile.
Something is seriously wrong here so if anyone can let me know of where i could look it would be great.
lastly, where does this address book reside? This machine has a print/scan unit as well. thanks in advance.
regards,
Steve
