    Ricoh 22xx

Having some issues with the Ricoh mp 22xx and the fuser making noise. Its a high pitch chirp. Most of these machines have under a 100k on them. the fusers only chirp when hot. We have replaced all bearings and bushings. Heck we even replaced the fuser to get chirping again in a 25k. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Make sure you use heat grease when replacing bearings and check the condition of the sep claws as they can cause high pitch noises when toner builds up on them,.

Check the lower fuser case, as the retention for the bearings is found in the plastic. If they are broken or cracked, the hot roller assembly can move in the fuser. A quick fix for this is to use the AE04 0047 bearing to eliminate the movement. This keeps you from having to swap out the entire lower case, which can be somewhat labor intensive.
