    Ricoh MP c8002 / 6502

Hi, I have been using Genuine Ricoh toner in the machines in the field and all is fine, I have had a batch of toner in now and its been mis-ordered and its Lanier toner, I have been told it will work as long as the machine is not set to using only Ricoh. I have seen this but can't find it at all, is there a setting to tell the machine it has another brand in, in the SP's? I think there were three types one being Ricoh / Lanier / Gestetner I am guessing.

    Any ideas would be welcome

As far as I know, the only difference between Ricoh and Lanier toners is the label on the box.

Yep no difference, we are a Lanier dealer and sometimes we get Ricoh branded toner and sometimes Lanier branded toner, no changes to the machine.

        Hi Slim

I thought that but the machine says "wrong toner type", spoke to a mate and he said you can alter it in the SP's what type it is, I have seen it donkeys ago but can't find it now. I have come across it before years ago as said.

        Thanks for coming backs quickly.

There is an sp that you can change for when the machine reads independent toner on the control panel. I'll see if I can find it. I'm pretty sure thats in the 5xxx somewhere. Not sure if thats what you need though. I just checked my 02 toner and the box has Ricoh-Savin-Lanier on the box. I've never had an issue.

5051-001 is what my other tech said to reset the message. Change to 1 and power the machine off.

The only thing I've seen regarding "Brand" on any of the Savins or Ricohs I have out in the field is SP 5907. All that does as far as I know is changes the brand displayed in the Web Image Monitor.

Ricoh, Savin, Lanier (Gestetner) are all the same boxes....and now the model numbers all match up too. Before, they had it so each "manufacturer" had a different model number for the same box.

Might be one of the SP settings that Ricoh moved to Factory SP
