Scan to Folder Set-up issue MP C5000

Got a strange problem on an older C5000. Customer wants to set up a 2nd Scan folder for their Invoices, but when I go to "Browse the Network", it says cannot find Specified Path. Do a connection test, and it says Cannot connect to PC or Connection with PC Failed. All Authentication info is correct, and When I type in the complete path manually I still get no where. So, I go to the existing scan folder and do a connection test and it's successful. Browse the Network and it connects and is all there. Scanning on existing folder works fine. Path names are nearly identical except for the last folder name. Firmware is up to date.

Why won't it browse the network, yet still be connected and having other scan folder working fine??
EDIT: Customer is Running Windows 2008 server.

Domain name might not be set correctly.

For best operation the first DNS needs to be the domain DNS.

If you are still having issues with adding the second folder why not create the new folder in the one that is already working and add the entire path in the machine. For example your "scan folder" is working and they want another folder for invoices. Just add another folder in the "Scan folder" and call it "invoices" then put the correct path in the machine \\scan\invoices . Something like that if you cannot get it working. Browsing to network is usually possessed.
If it works, don't touch it.

Try the existing username to see if it works first and then setup the new one . How did you setup the scanning anyway? Did you just share to everyone or create a new user and allow it access to the folder

I actually inherited this problem while on a copy quality call. I was not aware that our IT and the Bank's IT have been trying to get this working since November last year! While on the service call, a handful of the office ladies came up and asked me if I could change some settings, and then get the scan folder set up. I'm not the type to say "No", so I tried a lot of different things mentioned here and on Ricoh's tech forum. But still not working. I believe their IT is either going to upgrade machine or set up the scan folder on another machine in office that works. Thanks for your input guys!

Sounds like a plan. If anything then the IT Should just set up a folder on their server for scanning so that they can give it a fresh start and setup the credentials from scratch. This way they can decide on their own who they want to give access to for the scan folder and they don't.

Authentication going back to the Share/server.
Was the new share folder allowed on the server?
Was the new share folder created with valid Admin credentials?

Banks can run other separate companies inside thier own organizations.
Does the share path require login using domain? eg mypc@some_domain

Have the bank admin white list the above share and then try to setup authentication (user/password,folder path) again on the MFD.

Power down the MFD and try again.

The bank IT will most likely be using hostname convention on the MFD?
I have encountered one weird issue while using hostnaming convention on a mpc2500.
                  Similar problems as you described.
