Is there any way to have a Ricoh MFP auto delete locked jobs at a certain time?

We are implementing locked printing at a customer of about 200 employees at 4 different locations and their IT is wondering if this is a possibility?

I understand but IT is going to delete the jobs off the copiers every night anyways, they were just asking if there is a way to automate this instead of doing it one by one.

In User Tools/Counter>Printer Features>Data management, change "Auto Delete Stored Print Jobs" from the default setting of 3 days to 1 or 2. It won't give you a specific time/day it will do it... it's just give the document 1-2 days to reside on the drive before it's deleted.

        Hope that helps.

Are you sure that your not thinking of "Auto Delete Document Server"?

It says "Stored Print Jobs". Now whether or not it works on LOCKED print jobs? I won't know that until Monday.

...running an experiment over here don't ya know....LOL!

              Experiment concluded.

Auto Delete does NOT remove locked print jobs!! They must be deleted manually....and you must know the password in order to delete them.

I believe you can delete the locked jobs through the WIM as admin.

You're correct...but the OP was looking for a way to automate the process. Their IT dept. was looking for the "Easy" way.

Would it be possible to make a Powershell or Java script to automate the process? I imagine it'll take a bit, but once it is complete then it'd just be a matter of keeping up with added machines in the scheme and tweaking the next entry. As I'm not skill in much more than simple scripting, it's just a thought; hope it helps?

Streamline NX will do this nicely...so will Equitrac. Either can be set to delete print jobs after X number of days.

                        Neither is free, or cheap.

You get what you pay for.

                          I just thought of something...

Not sure if Enhanced Locked Print is still available, although I think it is.

It's the print component of Streamline. Streamline is much more because it can also control copying and scanning.

If you can still get it, it's only a small fraction of the cost of Streamline, in both dollars and resources.

Last I knew you can get a 30 day trial from the TSRC site.

I need the auto delete as well. Yeah they don't want them to delete them, but here's reality: They NEVER print half of them out.
When they were able to print everything without Hold Print or Lock Print, they wasted exponential amounts of paper. Now that
they have "Hold Print" they just let it fill up the queue, and this eventually stops all printing. So whether they want them to be
deleted or not, is not their call. The reality? They NEED to be auto deleted for operations to continue to function normally...
