Hi friend, excuse for my english, I have a mp 7500 in a client that only prints in b/w does not print in grayscale, prints very black photos, without details, I have changed boards, drums, sensors, everything, but the machine remains the same. any ideas?
    Thanks.

Grey Scale is usually referred to print through a color unit..
not sure what you are trying since yours is a B&W only

They likely mean it only prints in full density black or white with no variation in density. A BW machine can print in greyscale by varying in the density of the toner applied to the page.

the OP (imho) didn't really make clear his issue.

but he has wasted time and $$$ by not diagnosing properly and just shotgunning his repair approach

AFAIK, the driver does not have a grayscale option to print. Did you check if you were using the correct driver? How bout changing the settings (edge smoothing, toner saving, process as bitmap)?
          Aye! Cut the crap

I think I have not explained myself well, when I print a photo on the mp7500, the print has no grays, no details, very loaded with toner, practically all black, an example:

            Photo ok, print with other mp7500: photo-ok — imgbb.com
            Photo no ok: photo-no-ok — imgbb.com

            This happens printing and copying

I have changed development unit, charge unit, image unit, transfer unit, boards, etc, of the other machine, and the quality doesn't change, any ideas?

Is it the correct driver? I doubt it.

If it's doing it with prints and copies it could possibly just be over toned? I would remove the toner and run some sky copies to get the density down to see if it makes a difference.

I did have a machine do it only when printing PDF's before and that turned out to be the driver as others have already suggested

What about copies? If copies are ok then you must check driver program and make arangements . Something about dithering or .....
                    Is toner genuin?

Is the process control ok? You said you have replaced most of the parts, so I'm wondering if you have executed the process control settings. How bout your firmwares? Printer driver? Toner? Would you mind sharing the SP data of your device?

OP mentioned doing it both copying and printing

The last thing I have left to change is a polygonal motor and the laser diode

I would be upset with this issue, too. It's so dark you can't even see her boobs clearly. Seriously overtoned. After seeing what you have already replaced, I'm wondering if you have a bad ID sensor. Maybe you should clean the id sensor, detone the machine to an acceptable CQ level and then set developer . If detoneing does not give you a halfway decent print, it may be an image processing issue. Drum ground?IPU? I just thought of something, make sure the filters are clean. I used to have a bunch of these machines, and image quality issues would appear if the filters were clogged up.
