    Lanier LW 310 printer cable adaptor needed, 26 pin MDR

    Hi Guys, the back of the machine has that old style, that the book calls a 26 pin MDR connector. not sure if its called a scsi or what. but the customer wants to plug the printer into a windows 98 or a parallel or even a USB port. does anyone know if there is a cable adapter, or what are the options to connect this to a computer?

    I called my Ricoh dealer and they said the connectivity products are discontinued.
    I also did an extensive search on the web and found nothing.
    i even emailed a cable company i found on the web, and they never replied.


    any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

      I believe that the Interface PCB Type 240 is a SCSI interface. In order to connect to a PC requires the installation of the Printer/Scanner Controller (SCSI) in Server PC.

          Ok, I am not sure if they have the software already on the computer, and just need the scsi to parallel cable, or the whole ball of wax.

          I'll inquire, but without the proper connection, that's likely futile.

          Are you saying that if they don't have the software already loaded, than that part is also obsolete?

              Does printer come up in user tools? If not it probably needs complete external controller, if they have not got that they have a very old wide format copier only.

                  To print\scan on that machine you will need a plotbase controller. Its a PC base controller that runs off a XP box when it was first introduced. If they have the computer but are missing the cable I have some at my office that I get you a price on. I can also get you information on the Ratio rep in the US who is based down in Miami Fla. They have a upgrade to Windows 10 for about 2G USD.
