    SCAN TO FOLDER

How can I make the scan to folder work without disabling the firewall in Symantec antivirus? Applying new rule in inbound rules in advance firewall setting, port 139, 445 exemption does not resolve the issue. It happens only when computer name is used instead of using IP address in the shared path. Any ideas?

Check your dns. Anytime I've had issues with computer names it's been a dns issue.

Maybe Scan via FTP might be a better option?
So far I've had no virus scanners or firewalls refuse an exception for FTP scanning.

Check on the logs. One of them will point to the service that blocks the scan to folder. And also, since you were scanning thru IP and wants to configure to hostname, your DNS will surely play an important role.
        Aye! Cut the crap

Add a device to Device Trust

Have you added the machine to the device trust list on the affected computer?
