If the fuser housing is cracked you'll see wear and shavings where the hot roller drive gear has been rubbing. The Barrierta grease is expensive and doesn't work that well - use the Krytox grease (You may still be able to order it from Ricoh as G600-248)
And Ditto on the "these PCU's aren't worth rebuilding" Make sure you get a NEW unit OEM - even Ricoh's own attempt to rebuild these things failed miserably.
