MPC 6502 damaged leading edge from tray 1

We have an mpc 6502 that keeps damaging the leading edge of the paper only when feeding from the internal lct tray 1 and just off center to the rear of the copier by about 1 inch see attached pic
The things we have changed are the complete feed unit and the lct tray which has the added spacer under the area that you screw the tray to the rail. we thought this would have fixed the problem.
All the reg area mylars are in good condition and have been replaced in the last 8 months we are sure the damage is happening before the paper gets into the reg area as sometimes the paper jams befor the reg area due to the damage.
we have tried adj the tray hight to no avail it will damage the paper 4 to 8 times an a run of 10 pages.
    has anyone had this.

We usually see that from worn feed rollers (especially the sep. roller). We did have an instance on a C5503 (didn't have lct tray 1) with an identical problem. Tried 2 new feed units, and the second one finally got rid of the tearing. We found that when you engaged the rollers together, they were not "flat" to each other. They came together on one side and had a gap on the other side. Tweaked the metal holders for sep roller shaft to get the first NEW unit working that originally had the same issue. Something to look at.

The attached bulletin is on the same problem on the Pro 1357EX. My guess is your problem has the same solution.

          .Quick update all fixed
turned out to be the upper relay rollers in the side door oposite the first feed unit we removed the roller and cleaned the shafts and it worked straight away.
we had looked at these rollers but they seemed to turn all ok an area maybe to look at 2 million on the clock.
