[Misc] Ricoh Scanner IS 300 (e) how to reset to factory settings

Hello, this is my first post:
i just got a Ricoh IS 300 e Scanner with firmware Version 1.4.4 for cheap, hooked it to my network, and now i can access the scanners webpage via a webbrowser.
But unfortunately the standard user "scanner" and password "password" do not seem to work. Whenever i enter it(i tried different web browsers), it does not seem to accept it.
So i cannot access most menus or make any changers.
Is this the latest firmware available?
Would updating help resetting the password?

I already tried holding the ./* and # buttons for 10 Seconds, or powering on the device with these buttons pressed, but nothing.
I found a non-marked button on the back, right next to the pc-card slot, that does not do anything when pressed.

Does anybody have a Service manual available?

Also, i am curious about the compact flash and the sdcard socket at he back.
Would it be possible to store scanned images there? If not, what else are the good for?
There is a small door at the front, bottom left, witk a Rotary SCSI Address switch, 8 dip switches(all off), a reset switch(doesnt do much) and a "1394 / SCSI" switch.
What are the dip switches for?
Since this scanner has neither SCSI nor 1394(a.k.a. "Firewire") ports, do they have to be in a certain position?

    Dirk
