pro 907 ex with sc 495 and sc586 codes

    hi
I havent worked on any of these before but was asked to look at one with 2.5mil and machine was suppose to have been PM ed recently. I saw there is a bulletin for 496 and FW for both issues.
Can I get a pdf of the latest FW so I can check that 1st.
HOW difficult is it pulling apart the toner feed assembly?
    Is it like the mp6001?
    thanks

2.5M is a little light for a production machine this old. My first 1357EX had that many in the first six months.

If you do not have a service manual, get one.

Neither SC can be corrected with firmware.

The SC 586 is easy. Clean/replace the CIS for the LCIT.

SC 495 is going to take a little trouble shooting:
    1. Pull the development unit out to where you can see into the toner entry port.
    2. Is the level of the tone above or below the toner hopper sensor?
    3. If it is above, the sensor is either bad or disconnected.
    4. If it is below, you might have any of the following, check everything in the service manual for this code. It the supply tube from the cylinder to the toner pump is clogged, order a new one. These tubes have a white Teflon coating on the inside. Once damaged they will continue to clog.

SC 495 - is one of the most challenging on this model Bellini Series up to Katana. The toner transport system from bottom up to cylinder then to development unit via pump. So from those point check if toner is transporting. Run output check of toner bank motor and transport coil if toner is climbing from bank to cylinder if it does then check the output of pump supply if its not taking toner from cylinder perhaps toner pipes is clogged as mention above. Better to take it out and clean it properly there is instructions on removing it, flywheel, dev motor exhaust fan like those item. Just note don't take long on making output check on pump supply sp 5-804-163 if you do so and when I sound like hard drive or choke its subject for replacement. Anyhow good luck Sir.
fix the customer first then fix the machine... its simple and makes life more easy.

        Thanks

Removing the LCIT is it visible by looking at it on site or do i have to go thru manual?
I assume the 495 is similar to mp6001 transfer belt coil getting all clumped up and binding.
I would like to know if FW is up to date just to be thorough anyway

Not a 6001. A manual is definitely needed. Somewhere I have a TS document for this. I'll see if I can find it. I may have gotten it from here. Search the forums.

Search the manual PDF most likely it's a clog in the waste pipe. The manual has a TS list.

srry for the big print as i copied/paste and everything got bigger.
Is the clog in the waste pipe the same code as the toner feed pipe?
