Ricoh 3235C dirty copies at power on

When the 3235C is powered on the first 8-10 copies have a horizontal stripe about 15mm wide of magenta, cyan then yellow mixed with black. Once this clears I get good clean copies for as long as the machine stays powered up. What could be causing the deposit of excess toner at power on or power off? The waste toner bottle is about a third full.

This model is 14 years old. Ricoh no longer support parts that are not common to later models. The HDD on it is a preformatted matched pair and must be replaced as a set from Ricoh which s one of the parts no longer available.

Transfer cleaning unit could be shot, or the Development units could be shot, or the PCU's could be shot.

GOOD LUCK finding parts for this beast! Would be better (and probably cheaper) to upgrade that dinosaur!

        Transfer cleaner shot.

A 14+ year old machine can be made to work as long as parts are available....but for how LONG those parts are available? If you order a part and it comes back as "No Longer Available", the machine would be dead in the water at that point.

Agree with the previous posters. Time for an upgrade.
