    [Jamming] MP CW2200sp Jam 058 (does not finish feeding new paper roll)

    Hi,

    Have you had this problem, it says paper end on the display while feeding in the new paper roll, the print head slides one time over the paper then it pulls the paper back out and says jam 058.

    I have replaced the pre-registration sensor and the paper detection sensor by the paper roll. Also the skew settings in SP mode are correct and firmware is up to date.
    Paper settings are correct (plain paper, I have tried two new rolls of paper.

      One of my least favorite machines to work on. Some things to get you started. What is the mileage on the machine? At some point you will need to replace ALL the parts in the Roll Feed Assy - Feed Motor, Clutches, Torque Limiter etc. These are not strong parts and eventually lead to intermittent jam codes when loading paper. I have had to replace these parts within 12,000 Linear Feet of paper feed.
      Secondly, has the bearing on the left side of the roll feed been checked for cracks in the resin coating?
      Thirdly, check the paper roll spindle for damage to the hubs. Doesn't take much to affect paper loading.
      Do a search on this forum for the CW2200 or Jam Code 058. There is a lot of info on this site to help you.

          Thank you for your reply Gary,

          This machine has over 19.000 linear feet printed. This is the first time I work on one of these ( my coworker who handles these is on vacation) I would rather work on MP4000's all day long rather than this POS !

              X2 on what Gary said these roll feeds suck big time. Poor design and function. The paper spindles are are easily broken and don't lock the paper rolls in creating slippage and jams.

                  Cause : Cracked resin coating on the bearings
