Savin C3003 Fax issue

Hi All,
I have a customer that their fax line is shared with their phone line, recently the C3003 started answering all incoming call as faxes, a workaround was I shut off auto reception that way tey can at least get their phone calls. Is there a setting for the machine to recognize distinctive rings.

No distinctive ring capability on native Ricoh devices. Some of the little SOHO rebrands have it but Ricoh always assumes a dedicated line. You can adjust the number of rings it takes before it answers (it is a setting in the NCU parameters) but not much else.

You might want get them a line share device. These devices detect the CNG tone sent by the calling fax machine and switch the call to the fax machine.

We use these. "The Stick". We have always had good results with this little product. Same thing that Slim is talking about. Fairly cheap, and super easy to set up.

Here in Australia distinctive ring can be set up via the provider.
The customer will be charged by the provider for the privilege.

Same is true for most areas. Doesn't help if the fax does not support distinctive ring.

Thanks for the info. I have customer that this would work just great for them It is a small law office in a small town.

I figured that out, but for some reason they were able to use the fax and phone on same line with this machine for several years, a few weeks ago she had a incoming fax stuck in queue and could clear it out so the tech onsite had done a SRAM clear on fax..I assume that whoever installed it must have done some "tweaking" on fax setting to get it to work..

In Australia it is called Duet - Fax SP mode NCUP 09 change from 144 to 90, NCUP 10 change from 001 to 000
