[Jamming] jam 063 single pass ardf mp7503 and mpc5504

Have a customer with many of these machines. They scan a lot. They complain about paper jams in the spdf (j063) separation. And they complain about feeding multiple papers, which means there is missing pages in the file.

It feels like we have tried everything, but still the same jam. Ricoh has released 2 firmware for this problem, got a little better but still not good.
Have any of you encountered the same problem? And in that case, any sustainable solution?

It feels like the problem only comes with scanning and not copying. spdf goes faster when scanning than copying.

    Help!

What model document feeder is it?
They just released a bulletin on 8/21/19 that "supposedly fixes" this issue (DF 3120/3100 3080), (may work on your model). First is a f/w update, and second is a different sep pad before the sep roller (but this sep pad is a "last resort" as it can tear the lead edge of certain paper types - they don't say which types).

I can't get the damn bulletin to load "file too large".

They "recommend" updating to the latest SPDF firmware first, and if that doesn't work, go to the sep pad. I've also heard of people just cutting a small portion of the mylar that's on the sep pad (have not done this myself).
The sep pad number is D6839102, but as I said, this is the "Last resort".

J063 is a trail edge jam at the separation sensor. They are normally caused by 2 or more sheets being fed with the first sheet lightly ahead of the rest. Since the customer is doing a lot of scanning, DF feed rollers will need to be replaced more often. If the documents being scanned are older and have been in storage where they might have collected dust, even more frequently.

Thanks, we have tested that sep-part on some machines and also tested cutting the mylar. We also tried to put som more "pressure" on the feed-belt, some customer says it goes better if they apply pressure on the top hatch . We also tested add an extra antistatic brush on the spdf.

Some people have also had luck with bumping up the scanning dpi (slows down the doc feed speed), or changing a setting for "higher stackability" (can't remember if that's in user tools or an SP setting).

Yes indeed. we have replaced and cleaned them often. And also tried to inform the customer about paper handling. But its not that easy to convince the customer about that when they have like 200-300 machines with this spdf.

And they do a lot of scanning on all of them?

the best success with this code for me has been AF032080 (blue reverse roller) and AA080354 (bushing). where I see this code the most I do this and usually don't have problems till the belt wears down. it will wear the belt faster but better than all the J063 codes.

Yeah we started yesterday trying with af032080 it worked when we tested it. Now we have to wait to see if it works for the customers paper
